Viewing a Food Job / Beverage Job:   Distribution Supervisor

 Major Tasks, Key Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

• Supervise the efficient loading of route and transport trucks
• Schedule the receiving and delivery of raw materials/finished products in a timely manner
• Optimize transport route to minimize cost through effective use of back-haul opportunities
• Ensure that optimal inventory levels of full goods are maintained in order to fulfill daily sales needs
• Provide timely service to sales department while minimizing warehouse and production costs
• Ensure adequate staffing, direction, and discipline, as well as a safe work environment
• Minimize labor costs while providing timely service
• Provide accurate and timely departmental reports
• Maintain formal and informal communications in order to respond to the needs of the individual and the business
• Provide incentive for employees to become partners in the effort to increase productivity
• Distribution Supervisors typically supervise a team of front-line employees

Basic Job Qualifications:

• At least three years supervisory experience
• Previous track record of developing and implementing process improvements
• Previous experience using Microsoft Office
• Must be available for shift work

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Logistics
• Previous experience in the beverage industry or consumer products high-speed manufacturing
• Strong analytical and logistics skills
• Strong leadership skills
