Job Description
Job Summary:
The incumbent will support Old World’s core values while being responsible to improve efficiencies, cut costs and widen production capabilities. Position will have responsibility and accountability of direction, focus, and success of all department associates. The position requires a minimum of 45 to 50 hours per week of organizing, planning and implementing responsibilities. Position is a part of the management team and reports to Chief Operating Officer.
The Maintenance/Engineer Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the maintenance activities within a team-based environment and will also ensure the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems. Manage work order and preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Delegate maintenance and repair work to the maintenance employees. This position will also be responsible for cause analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting. Establish and maintain computerized maintenance management. Improve operating cost and efficiencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Planning activities
- Evaluate production standards and adjust
- Spend time on production floor working along side team members
- Foster team concept within department and among other departments Keep team positively motivated and focused
- Foster positive communications daily with other team supervisors.
Business Development
- Examine new product opportunities presented by sales & marketing for operational synergies and evaluate impact and report to management.
Maintenance
- Develop and maintain maintenance protocols
- Perform needed equipment maintenance
- Train department associates to perform maintenance procedures
- Facility maintenance
Logistics
- Develop plans of effective movement of all materials and team members
- Work with warehouse team to facilitate goals
- Engineering
- Develop goals for operational systems
- Develop and work with in-house and outside engineering companies to enhance operational systems and increase production capacity or expand production opportunities.
- Communications
- Develop rapport and communicate regularly with all OWS departments, keeping company informed of activities.
- Develop a beneficial understanding of our business and customers
- Become acquainted with OWS capabilities, products, customers, etc.
- Optimize throughput, process capability and individual operations.
- Provide daily support of production, work as part of team assigned to production line to troubleshoot technical problems quickly and effectively.
- Create and maintain all required documentation for internal process approvals.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Manage interdepartmental project activities related to engineering and process changes
- Recommend equipment, tooling for production processes.
- Coordinate all interaction with suppliers related to these items and create cost/benefit analysis for internal presentation.
- Design tooling, fixtures and simple machines
- Perform and/or lead initial installation of production equipment, as well as mechanical adjustments and controls setup and optimization.
- Develop process flow charts and instructions for setup/operation for assigned production processes.
- Providing leadership, guidance, support and direction for the maintenance staff
- Providing management and coordination of maintenance activities associated with the following: all plant electrical control and mechanical systems, which are associated with plant utility, production operations, equipment and processing.

- Three or more years in a Maintenance Supervisory Role
- Three or more years in a manufacturing environment
- Good working knowledge of GMP.
- Ability to work in a team environment to create solutions and keep project schedules.
- Must be self-motivated and self-directed.
- Strong skills in controls and electrical installations and in Problem-Solving.
- Experience with assembly processes.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and process improvement.
- Computerized maintenance management system software experience a plus,
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
