Requirements
1) Degree (4 year) in Food Science or a related field
2) 5-12 years’ experience
3) Experience in product formulation/development within the food processing industry
4) Familiarity with trials, lab tests, and production
5) Knowledge of nutrition, ingredient functionality, and processing techniques
6) Proven managerial skills and specialized subject matter expertise relevant to product development
7) Self-motivated with ability to work independently under minimal supervision
8) Ability to participate in team-based project management and product development activities
9) Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
10) Strong customer service orientation.
Job Description
Responsibilities
1) Food technologist with sales and technical service skills to work with food companies interested in adding probiotics to their products.
2) Maintain and update all project-related data
3) Provide scale-up support to assure a successful transition to product commercialization
4) Lead R&D relationship with multiple accounts as assigned
5) Handle and oversee ongoing project deliverables, technical support, written reports, meeting attendance, status updates, etc.
6) Assess ongoing business-related R&D initiatives with customers
7) Take appropriate action to implement agreed-upon objectives
8) Communicate with internal business partners
9) Solicit information regarding future product requirements with customers and share data with sales and marketing to address future opportunities
10) Present innovative concepts and products for internal/external accounts on an ongoing basis
11) Coordinate and conduct training for internal employees to support the launch of new products or the upgrading of older procedures
12) Collaborate with and provide technical leadership/support to all departments concerned with new product development and product maintenance.
