Job Description
Position Overview: The Key Account Manager for food sales is responsible for the identification, development, and servicing of projects at specified accounts in the USA & Canda for sale of natural botanical extracts & scientifically supported branded ingredients into the food industry. This role involves both the management of existing customer accounts and projects along with extensive prospecting and development of new customer accounts and projects with the goal of expanding sales of existing and new products. This role hinges upon the Account Manager’s technical aptitude, and ability to provide ongoing technical and application support to customers in the food industry.
Working Hours: From 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday minimum with additional time as needed to meet quota.
Travel: Expectation of 50-60 customer sales calls/year plus attendance at key trade shows.
Qualifications: This individual should have at least 5-10+ years’ experience selling Ingredients into the food industry.
Education & Skills: A college degree and a technical background are required. An advanced degree related to the food industry is highly preferred, but not required if the candidate has sufficient industry experience. Experience providing application support in any of the following areas is an advantage: bakery, beverage, colors, dairy, flavor, meat, oils, snacks, and spice among others . Experience using CRM/SFA program to enhance sales productivity also preferred.
