Education and/or Experience:Mechanical Engineering certificate is essential with 5-10 years of relevant supervisory/leadership experience. Health & Safety Certification Part 1 & 2 for Manufacturing Sector. Strong working knowledge of the OHSA. Qualified in First Aid and Foklift Licensed is an asset.Language Skills:Excellent reading, writing, and mathematical skills are required in managing customer orders, set up of machines, calculating appropriate product measurements, maintaining records etc; Ability to analyze data for technical difficulties is essential.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong knowledge of CMMS, MS Office, Project Management Software, AutoCad, and Internet Explorer.

Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all maintenance, repair, engineering, outside contractors, maintenance purchases, and facility related services at the Mississauga site. In addition, the Maintenance Manager must provide superior service to the Operation teams to ensure continuous improvement of factory performance and quality.

Maintenance/Engineering
- Direct and coordinate the activities, budget, and monitor the costs of operating the maintenance and janitorial departments.
- Manage and maintain the C – Works Application
- Negotiate and effectively manage all outside contractors, suppliers and service providers.
- Provide effective leadership in the support and realization of significant operational improvements
- Manage all regulatory obligations regarding CFIA, OHSA, environment (water/air), local by-laws, waste stream, and insurance
- Plan, organize, coordinate and supervise the maintenance and cleaning groups to support identified plant needs.
- Plan, control, update and follow up on the preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure that equipment/operating records, particularly those required by the CFIA and HACCP, are kept up-to-date in order to control and analyze activities of the various plant units/equipment.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate inventory levels of repair parts.
- Implement corrective plans to ensure the maintenance shop is kept according to standards
- Ensure that storage areas for these items are organized and maintained in an orderly manner.
- Plan for timely replacement of obsolete, uneconomically repairable and worn-out equipment. Determine requirements, develop specifications, obtain quotes and help prepare project justifications for Capital Investments projects.
- Provide installation assistance, start-up support, and identify additional training needs for all new equipment.
- Identify and verify the need for contractor and vendor services, to include rental equipment. Obtain services and/or equipment deciding if the job will be contracted outside Trophy or it can be done by the maintenance team
- Monitor operation and maintenance of utility systems, equipment and the fire protection system. Evaluate inspection reports, recommend and/or direct implementation of changes necessary to improve reliability and safety in the most economically feasible manner.
- Plan and revise maintenance schedules or procedures to provide the production departments with proper maintenance at lowest cost, with minimum downtime, consistent with good maintenance practices.
- Support and implement a comprehensive energy-management system.
Employee Relations
- Implement and mange the schedules of maintenance staff for 2- 3 shifts, seven days a week (extra work to be performed on weekends if necessary)
- Monitors work performance of all maintenance staff to achieve high standards of quality, effectiveness, and safety.
- Measures productivity and performance of all the maintenance team.
- Determines training needs of employees; trains and orients new staff.
- Performance Management (probationary reviews, annual reviews, progressive discipline)
- Ensures the confidentiality of personnel data.
- Support Trophy’s national Employee Recognition Program by either formally or informally recognizing employees when warranted
- Supports, enforces and adheres to all Health & Safety policies and procedures including the use of Personal Prot
and supervise the maintenance and cleaning groups to support identified plant needs.
