Job Description
A leading manufacturer and distributor of rice, beans, peas, international foods representing over 1 500 different products is seeking a Regional Food Service Manager covering Quebec and Ontario. In this position you will be responsible for developing new, and maintaining existing business with a variety of food service accounts. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following tasks.
1. Contacts major food service customers to promote our products.
2. Maintain existing customers as well as continually growing customer base. Developing new business through end user sales calls, cold calls, and tradeshows and performing work within distributor network.
3. Develop new business through leads, phone contacts, cold calls, and food service tradeshows.
4. Actively participating in representation, products promotions, and new products training.
5. Demonstrate the ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of condition and constraints.
6. Must be a self starter and have the ability to work independently.
7. Must be an effective negotiator, competent in closing deals.
8. Computer knowledgeable.
9. Product knowledgeable. (training provided)
10. Support other sales team members when necessary.
11. Meet or exceeds pre-established goals for gross margins and sales dollars.
12. Manage all areas of major chain and food service distributor network while calling on key accounts.
13. Travel mainly to Toronto
14. Must have minimum of 5 years experience in the food service sales industry with established contacts.
This position requires a highly motivated, well organized, resourceful self-starter with professional sales skills and excellent follow-up. Must work well under pressure, be able to prioritize tasks, and remain flexible to meet multiple deadlines and changing priorities with little daily supervision. Needs excellent customer service, negotiation and presentation skills. Extended hours may be required during the workweek and possibly on the weekends as needed for tradeshows.
