Job Description
Primary Purpose:
The person is directly responsible for overseeing the Plant Operations which include Production, Warehousing, Quality, Maintenance, Materials Management, Safety, .
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for providing a vision to inspire and drive the business unit to achieve and surpass business goals and objectives (such as Safety, Productivity, Inventory levels, etc)
2. Monitor the key drivers established for each functional area
3. Responsible for production improvements and efficiency of operations.
4. Perform the overall supervisory role for: Engineering/Maintenance, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Customer Service, Inventory Control, Safety and Operations
5. Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
6. Work closely with Human Resources on staffing issues and needs.
7. Serve as a leader that is hands on in the operations.
8. Responsible for corporate and plant level safety, quality and financial initiatives and on-going training and compliance.
9. Interact with external parties including government agencies. Customers, vendors, and insurance companies.
10. Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the business unit.
11. Chief Morale Officer of the Site.
12. Ability to understand and improve Production and Business processes practiced at the site.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelors Degree
Experience:
1. Minimum 10 years industry experience with a Technical Degree (engineering or chemistry).
2. Understanding of USDA/FDA regulations, as well as HACCP, GMP’s, SOP’s, AIB, Organic, and Hazard Analysis.
3. Communications – written and verbal
4. Computer literacy
5. Financial literacy.
6. Time management and organizational skills
7. Troubleshooting and Analytical Problem Solving skills
8. Process measurement and monitoring skills
9. Teaching, training, mentoring and presentation skills
Computer: Data entry skills, Microsoft Office, ERP systems
