· Working knowledge of machines, maintenance and project management.· Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field or experience with a strong background covering engineering, project work, training, utilities and equipment maintenance· Leadership skills as they demonstrate the ability to lead a group of people with measurable results being achieved. To demonstrate the ability to form high performance teams. In addition, display excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Planning and the ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2 year time span.
Job Description
West Liberty Foods is looking for a Plant Engineer for the Tremonton, Utah facility. Incumbent will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and exercising functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of projects within areas of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Incumbent will also manage all activities and adhere to company policies, procedures and philosophies in the attainment of assigned work areas within budgeted costs and assigned priorities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Develop and direct procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
· Provide engineering expertise in the areas of tooling, specifications, equipment maintenance, and purchased products throughout the organization.
· Ensure current and accurate costing (including Specials) in conjunction with Finance.
· Control expenditures within limitations of project budget.
· Recommend methods, materials, and layouts for improvement based on manufacturing needs and capabilities.
· Build, develop and manage maintenance and engineering teams capable of carrying out needed initiatives in their departments.
· Ensure that company and department safety policies are being adhered to.
· Assign project personnel to specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
· Resolve with appropriate operations management personnel any problem areas or requests needing specific immediate attention.
· Keep advised of state-of-the-art techniques and equipment to achieve cost-effective maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.
· Perform both problem analysis and resolution at a strategic and functional level.
· Support and develop training and development opportunities for team members.
· Assure that maintenance activities adequately comply with company, USDA and OSHA required standards.
· Administer company policies, philosophies, procedures to maintenance department personnel.
· Emphasize that maintenance mechanics perform to their potential and are developed to the best of their capabilities.
· Follow up with Plant Manager on reports of equipment abuse to assure proper action is taken to prevent reoccurrence.
· Manage CMMS program to assure work requests are being fulfilled. As appropriate approve work requests, guides priority setting with production departments and monitors for cost control and follow up.
