Job Description
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for assigned area of manufacturing operations, including production, packaging, and/or processing of ingredient or finished product. Responsible for the effective utilization of employees, equipment and materials, training, facilitation of Continuous Improvement Teams (CIT’s), production, quality, housekeeping, safety, policy administration, employee relations, performance enhancements, cost control, problem solving, and goals/objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Directly supervises and follows up on scheduled work with all employees in assigned area of responsibility and in the Manufacturing Department if the need arises.
2. Reviews production schedule for needs and accuracy.
3. Ensures equipment availability and proper operation throughout the shift.
4. Ensures correct usage of raw materials throughout the shift.
5. Adheres to Total Quality Control (TQC) policy and food safety requirements.
6. Be trained and provide training on the Beef Export Verification (BEV) program requirements. Validate production employees are verifying the requirements and comply with the program and the results are properly documented.
7. Ensures equipment and work area for proper sanitation, condensation control, etc.
8. Ensures consistent product quality throughout the total process.
9. Responsible for understanding, communicating, and following General Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) during operations.
10. Follows Total Quality Control (TQC) policy.
11. Take immediate action on any General Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) deficiencies.
12. Initiates, facilitates, and follows up all Continuous Improvement opportunities with all supporting departments.
13. Ensures that Continuous Improvement Team(s) meet regularly.
14. Develops and facilitates personal and team goals and objectives and continually reports CIT progress.
15. Continuously communicates performance review and feedback of strengths and weaknesses to all employees.
16. Responsible for timely employee performance reviews.
17. Communicates increase, range, and range position to each employee.
18. Interviews prospective candidates through the job posting procedures using the decision matrix.
19. Responsible for the training of all new employees in proper methods and procedures to perform job. Continues to develop and lead employees with on-going training.
20. Reviews errors with employees and applies “performance enhancements” if needed.
21. Ensures all equipment and work area is free of all hazards.
22. Initiates, facilitates, and follows up on all suggested safety improvements.
23. Initiates, facilitates, and follows up training of all safety procedures. Completes all appropriate reports and follows up with corrective action.
24. Responsible for understanding, communicating, and leading evacuation procedures.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Completes and keeps current all employee transaction forms.
2. Prepares and/or reviews various operational reports, line efficiency, daily uptime, materials variance, etc., and continuously communicates to line employees.
3. Develops and ensures method of real-time communication for communicating line performance measurements to all team line employees.
4. Verification of all production data collection.
5. Follows established policy in areas of job assignments, performance enhancements, benefits, etc. Checks with Manufacturing Manager and/or Human Resource Department for clarification if needed.
6. Recommends to Human Resources policies that need to be reviewed and/or changed.
7. Administers attendance policy.
8. Informs all employees of work standards and policies.
9. Applies PEP when work standards, safety policies, or GMP’s are violated.
10. Responsible for the timely response to PEP appeals.
11. In the event of absence, the next level on the organizational chart covers for the next level up.
12. Employee has an individual responsibility to report all possible deficiencies or practice that could compromise food safety.
13. Employee is to adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times.
