Job Description
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Conduct and follow-up on sanitation inspections of each department.
Inspect each department after daily clean-up and record any deficiencies for further detail cleaning.
Develop, improve and enforce Good Manufacturing Practice (GMPs) standards.
Train new employees on GMPs.
Test and qualify new vendors and/or supplies. Prepare new vendor specification sheets.
Develop and implement Safety programs.
Implement HAACP program and keep pertinent information up-to-date. Prepare MSDS sheets on appropriate material.
SQF Level II Audit Development
Administration
Apply for and maintain Kosher certification. Update Kosher certificates on monthly basis and accordingly update Old World’s Kosher certificates. Meet with Rabbi monthly throughout the year to maintain certifications.
Prepare necessary paperwork to comply with third party inspection requirements. Train personnel on preparation of production areas for third party inspection.
Manage Pest Control program and meet with outside Pest Control Inspector as needed.
Meet with Fire Inspector, FDA Inspector throughout year regarding Code compliance.
Verify Work Order data entry daily and investigate any discrepancies.
Responsible for making label for new products, including creating an Ingredient Statement and usage.
Administer recall on products. Conduct mock recalls periodically throughout year.
Prepare Certificate of Analysis (COAs) on products as requested by customers.
Quality Assurance
Inspect and test all incoming material for compliance. File Supplier Non-Compliance form for material not in compliance. Notify Purchasing of corrective action required on product not within specification.
Check Pre-weigh and Warehouse pulls on daily basis. Pull retain samples for daily production. Compare finished blend retain against retain sample and initial approval on Work Order. Recommend corrective action if finished blend does not comply with retain sample. Record and file all retain samples daily.
Periodic Work in Progress quality checks of Blending and Packaging Departments. Cross-check packaging retains throughout the day.
Conduct microbiological plating, salt titration, moisture analysis, pH tests and volatile oil analysis on materials. Prepare GMO certificates and Allergen Reports as required.
Document and investigate Customer compliant.
Document and investigate Vendor non-compliance.

Develop rapport and communicate regularly with all OWS departments.
