- Qualifications / Skills Required 1) 4 year college degree or equivalent experience 2) HACCP certified/Seafood HACCP certification (preferred) 3) Minimum 4 years of quality control experience in a food manufacturing facility 4) GFSI experience (SQF or BRC preferred) 5) FDA regulated plant experience (preferred) 6) Ability to work in a team by encouraging cooperation, information sharing and coordination 7) Leadership ability to guide associates toward goal achievement through building trust and credibility within the organization 8) Highly organized with an ability to handle multiple priorities 9) Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint 10) Strong communication skills
Job Description
Partial Job Description
1) Maintain the quality assurance and the food safety program and its execution while delivering customer quality satisfaction
2) Ensure compliance with all GMPs in a food-processing environment
3) Maintain HACCP plans and update continuously
4) Ensure HACCP standards are followed and documentation compliance is verified
5) Ensure FDA and USDA standards requirements are documented and compliance is maintained
6) Manage BRC Certification program
7) Ensure program compliance is met within the organization
8) Manage audit program and document control
9) Lead program development for organization
10) Manage third party lab testing for product
11) Design and coordinate testing efforts and costing
12) Manage program and its development to ensure regulatory and customer compliance
13) Provide procedure and training materials to quality control contractors
14) Conduct training with employees to transfer knowledge of their requirements for QA compliance
15) Design quality assurance training programs that meet the needs for the entire facility
16) Develop, manage, direct and coordinate regulatory compliance program like Food and Drug administration (FDA), National Marine Fisheries service (NMFS), Maine Department of Agriculture (DAG) and Maine Department of Marine Resources (DMR)
17) Complete daily product tests for microbiological, workmanship, quality and specification compliance
18) Monitor processing procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards
19) Ensure sanitation requirements are maintained in all areas of the facility via periodic audits
20) Manage processes that meet corporate and customer quality assurance requirements
21) Prepare reports on inspections, compliance attainment and corrective actions
22) Prepare monthly quality assurance reports
23) Facilitate uniform quality standards for food safety
24) Participate in continuous improvement efforts
