Must have proven knowledge of HACCP process implementation and training in addition to a comprehensive understanding of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP); (FDA Title 21 CFR). Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Practitioner Certification a plus.
Must have understanding of Quality and process requirements as described in WDACTP chapters 70 and 80. Food Processing and Dairy Grade B, dry products manufacturing
Job Description
- Supervision of laboratory/quality control personnel in a dry foods contract packaging facility.
· Participate in product recalls
· Act as a customer contact for technical questions.
· Assist with product development.
· Enter formulations and other data into manufacturing computer system with consideration for appropriate regulatory issues (i.e. labeling, wastewater concerns).
Education and/or Experience: Four-year degree (BS or BA) with coursework in the Food Sciences or other related. 3-5 years progressive, related experience in a QA/QC environment.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and materials management documents. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, subordinates or members. Experience working in a multi-lingual environment (Spanish) strongly preferred.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic math functions, basic algebraic computations, compute ratio, discounts, percents. Ability to interpret and draw graphs and charts.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and non-concrete variables.
Other Skills and Abilities: The ability to work with people at all levels of the organization. Knowledge of computers and software.
