POSITION PURPOSE:
• Assists in developing people within the plant Quality Execution function, including hiring and promoting for success, technical and leadership development, performance management, and organizational planning.
? Supports Production Division Management in troubleshooting plant quality execution deficiencies, working with technical resources (Technical Services, Quality Assurance, R&D and Product Development) and plant management resources to identify root cause and eliminate recurring quality problems.
? Coordinates with Corporate Quality Assurance to assure proper follow up on all customer and regulatory issues (complaints, audits, requests for information). Assures plant level preparedness for customer and regulatory inspections and product recalls.
• Champions the plant Quality Execution initiatives and operates as the local subject matter expert in applicable Quality Execution and Quality Assurance policies, programs, and systems. Leads, teaches, and inspires passion in all plant employees for product quality, food safety, and plant housekeeping.
? Educates plant personnel on, and assures plant compliance with, Quality Systems, including recordkeeping, laboratory execution and product grading, Quality Alert effectiveness, hold and release protocols and COA compliance. Oversees sanitation systems and effectiveness and assures plant compliance with Food Safety (HACCP) systems. Motivates the plant exempt and non-exempt workforce to assume ownership of all areas of the quality program.
Principal Accountabilities
Champion the plant quality initiatives and operate as the local subject matter expert in applicable Quality Execution and Quality Assurance policies, programs, and systems. Lead, teach, and inspire passion in all plant employees for product quality, food safety, and plant housekeeping. 40%
Drive problem solving with respect to plant quality related issues. Identify opportunities before they become a problem focusing on root cause analysis and preventative action. Achieve expectations for plant quality related metrics. 20%
Educate plant personnel on, and assures plant compliance with, Quality Assurance standards for Quality, Food Safety and Sanitation Systems, product evaluations, analytical methods and customer satisfaction. 20%
Drive people development within the plant Quality Execution department, including hiring and promoting for success, technical/functional training, leadership development, and performance management. 10%
Achieve department and plant financial, safety, retention, employee involvement, and other defined objectives. 10%

QUALIFICATIONS
The incumbent should possess a technical background in food technology, food science, dairy science, microbiology, or chemistry, with a related undergraduate or graduate degree.
