Description
1) Ensure that any investment in new food technologies and biotechnology conforms to the plant or division’s strategic plan as well as has a positive impact on the plant’s production
2) Provide technical guidance and support to any new application by participating with the Engineering Department, in multi-disciplinary teams, to carry out large-scale strategic projects
3) Coordinate and monitor R&D projects as well as manage the allocated budget
4) Develop an action plan as per client requests, monitor market studies, and make the necessary corrections
5) Evaluate any new request by maximizing the price/quality ratio and determining the impact on production and productivity
6) Work in concert with the corporate R&D Department to apply and integrate the knowledge acquired throughout the industry
7) Write, record, submit, and defend R&D files eligible for tax credits
8) Ensure the complete integration of new technologies and biotechnologies into the plant’s current production system
9) Develop technical training programs for management and unionized personnel related to these new technologies and/or to the optimization of the manufacturing processes
10) Keep abreast of food technologies, biotechnologies, and innovations on the market as well as incorporate them into the organization

Critical Requirements:
1) Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology or Biochemistry
2) Minimum 5 years of experience with expertise in cheese production, technology, HACCP, and R&D
3) Bilingual in English and French (speaking)
