Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Primary technical resource for Lodi’s warehousing systems including the Automated Storage & Retrieval System/Automated Guided Vehicle System Hi Rise operation.. Identify, lead, develop, and execute solutions for performance improvements.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Demonstrate technical and business expertise on systems and technologies
*System owner and technical leader to ensure clear alignment with the Plant Master Plan leveraging Daily Management Systems to ensure plant floors activities are aligned with achieving the plants productivity targets.
* Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills through the use of continuous improvement techniques
* Support Continuous Improvement and other improvement fundamentals as it relates to warehousing systems
*Show thorough understanding of the interactions between machine, materials, methods, environment, and people to provide robust operating systems.
*Monitor system performance daily and resolve issues as they occur.
* Conduct unit operation studies and gap analysis to gain system knowledge, improved efficiencies and reduce loses and develop debottlenecking plans.
* Develop/maintain system performance and system utilization metrics and improvements.
* Provide key technical support in capital projects and new testing/start-ups.
* Conduct capacity studies, enhance system reliability, and identify/implement productivity improvements including new technologies. Develop/maintain strategic technical improvement plans for systems.
* Serve as a technical liaison for all levels of the company including production/maintenance employees, plant technical and management resources, corporate engineering, Research & Design organizations, and other plants.
* Develop/deliver technical training for various levels of the organization and serve as a divisional resource in cross-functional platform/technology/product teams.
* Additional duties as assigned.

*Reports directly to (“solid line”): Plant Logistics Manager
*Reports indirectly to (“dotted line”): Plant Technical Manager

Cross-functional working relationships with the following functions: Operations, Maintenance, Quality, R&D

Critical Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
* B.S. in Engineering from ABET-accredited program
* Recognized technical abilities and practical experience with strong capabilities in the following areas:
- Theory/functionality of manufacturing systems and unit operations
- Experience with Dynamo or similar simulation software.
- Continuous improvement techniques (Lean, TPM, Kaizen)
- Food science/chemistry or packaging science
- Statistics and analytical methods
- Process measurement and control
- Advanced computer skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Troubleshooting
- Ability to understand and apply general engineering principles

* Demonstrated skills in the following:

- Teaching and training ability
- Initiative
