Description
Overview:
Improve system performance by increasing the reliability of plant manufacturing equipment including process, packaging, facilities (i.e. ammonia refrigeration, air compressors), and material handling. Provide technical support for the evolution reliability centered maintenance, which will lead to productivity improvement and a reduced maintenance cost/case. Identify, implement, and communicate productivity improvements corporate wide. Support and lead CI initiatives in the areas of Focused Improvements, Planned Maintenance, Autonomous Maintenance, and Early Management.
Willing to commit to Carson plant for minimum 3 years.

Accountabilities:

Condition Based Monitoring
1) Maintain and expand current program
a) Vibration analysis, oil analysis, ultrasonic inspections, infrared, acoustic emissions, motor circuit analysis, and non-destructive testing
2) Implement/monitor the program
3) Gather reports for CMMS, analyze and use data from it
4) Gather reports, analyze, and use information from data collection systems.
5) Gather and interpret data from non-traditional PdM tools (metal detectors, sensors, etc.)

Failure Analysis & Prevention Program
1) Failure Analysis Programs: Lead failure analysis efforts such as FMEA, Why/Why Analysis, Cause Mapping, and RCA.
2) Failure Forensics: Evaluate equipment failures.
3) Failure Prevention: Participate in focus improvement (FI) activities and recommend changes to the care of the equipment.

Reliability Measures
1) Utilize MTBF, MTTR, availability, and other data to prioritize areas of focus.
2) Promote and track reliability growth. Educate people on plant metrics and relate them to the plant goals and objectives (including reliability, system performance, productivity, and others.)

Early Management
1) Update reliability, maintainability, LCC, and machine acceptance standards in the Manufacturing Requirements document. Train others and support the use of these documents.
2) Develop and update component and machine installation standards

Plant/Operations Continuous Improvement Programs
1) Promote and participate in system performance and the gap analysis process
2) Promote and participate in preventive maintenance development.

Plant Maintenance Measures
1) Promote the use of maintenance metrics (Planned maintenance rate, schedule compliance, PM completion, reliability, etc.)

Maintenance Program Development
1) Assist with the development of short-term goals and objectives.
2) Assist with the identification of required maintenance skills and the development of training assessments.
3) Coordinate equipment improvement efforts with maintenance, engineering, and operations.
4) Participate in the identification of the future maintenance culture.
5) Utilize CMMS system reports to develop priorities and justification.
6) Lead initiatives to help maintain and expand on PME Level II requirements
7) Identify maintenance methods as part of the RCM process
8) Maintain and expand on lubrication program

Critical Requirements:
Education: Bachelors degree, in ABET-accredited Engineering program preferred

Related Experience: 5 years preferred

Required Skills/Experiences:

1.) Ability to trend failures and determine asset utilization.
2.) Knowledge and application of early management tools, including life cycle analysis, standards, FMEA. Basic knowledge of predictive technology.
3.) Ability to read and understand CAD drawings and equipment diagrams.
4.) Knowledge and application of safety best practices and Good Manufacturing Practice.
5.) Ability to develop, implement and lead programs, such as predictive maintenance, focused improvement, etc.
6.) Knowledge and application of CMMS to drive Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs, in addition to using Reactive Maintenance data for focus areas
