Description
This position is responsible for assisting the Material Manager for the onsite planning and logistics of FDF Albion production including bulk and retail. Acts as liaison/communication link for FDF Albion and Materials Manager - Head Office. Ensures that the plant work orders are carried out within established time standards and meet the scheduled planning needs. Ensures that freight costs are controlled and minimized within established shipping guidelines. Responsible for maintaining and lot tracking physical inventory, and obtaining/maintaining optimal stock levels of finished goods, raw materials and packaging. Responsibilities • Production planning and development of schedules for the retail line • Report actual vs. planned production and adjust schedules as required in timely manner • Support customer order requirements through production and shipping schedules and maintaining min/max inventory stocks • Order and schedule incoming raw materials and packaging supplies – track and expedite orders • Optimize inventory levels to meet minimum required to meet customer orders and to avoid short shipments • Liaise with production and QC personnel to optimize the quality of product and efficiency of work • Inventory cycle counting and lot control traceability - resolve discrepancies to book inventory • Coordinate sample sending and follow up receipts • Import/export documentation for US/Canada movement of products • Follow up on all shipments for POD • Organize the staging of raw material for production of retail and bulk products for the next day production/packaging • Visual verification of product quantity and composition of the shipments • Other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager

Critical Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS • Post secondary education, logistics or IT related experience • Advanced MS Excel computer skills including Pivot tables • Strong oral and written communication skills • Organized, logical and able to follow through • Ability to take charge, prioritize and make decisions • Detail oriented, accurate • Strong problem solving skills and flexibility • Able to work under pressure with tight deadlines and multiple interruptions • 2-3 years production scheduling experience in MRP with SAP, QAD or NAV is a must
