Description
An R&D Product Development Scientist at Johnsonville Sausage will develop and leverage competencies in Product Development of Cooked and/or Smoked Sausage Products, Meat Snacks, Meat Science/Processing, Project Management, and Shelf Life in order to lead product development projects through our Innovation Process. Acumen in consumer insights and finance are also valuable. The end results are to Build Product Superiority to help achieve Brand Dominance so that we can have the Highest Impact on our Customers' Success. Build Superior New Products by leveraging your knowledge and skill sets in Product Development, Meat Science, Food Chemistry, Processing, Packaging and Manufacturing. Critical Requirements:
•        A minimum of five years’ experience in Product Development with the following:
o        Processed Meats or Meat Snacks company with existing business in Cooked/Smoked Sausages or shelf-stable meat snacks
•        B.S. in Food Science or Meat Science required; Masters Degree preferred
•        Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
•        Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate details for fact-based decision making
•        Industry-specific knowledge of meat ingredients, their functionality, product formulas, processing and manufacturing
•        Knowledgeable in USDA/FDA regulations and standards
•        Demonstrated self-growth and development
•        Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to function in a team-based environment
