JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a driven individual with a passion for the grain industry. One of our clients is looking to add a strong Transportation Manager to their team. Responsibilities include:

1) Coordinate production schedules with the Operations Group
2) Observe DOT, OSHA, state and federal safety regulations
3) Conduct monthly safety training classes with the staff
4) Provide monthly reports on truck utilization efficiencies
5) Review and provide monthly fuel usage and inventory report to the Accounting Department
6) Evaluate, prepare and present equipment replacement costs
7) Supervise all full and part-time employees
8) Drive and evaluate equipment and review operational status of drivers and fleet
9) Oversee truck fleet direction and maintain equipment at peak performance
10) Review and adjust schedule as needed in coordination with the Sales staff
11) Address complaints and resolve problems
12) Oversee fleet purchases and disposals

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
    2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
    3) Recent experience in the grain industry is strongly preferred
    4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in transportation management
